Served with the 4^th Dragoons at the battles of Pombal, Redinha, Condeixa, Salamanca, Albuera & Toulouse. Also at the cavalry affairs of Campo Mayor, Los Santos, Usagre, and covering the sieges of Ciudad Rodrigo, Burgos, Badajoz & the forts of Salamanca

At the conclusion of the Peninsular War, July 1814 put on Half Pay. He went to the Military College at Farnham.

2 March 1815 Put on Full Pay in the 16^th Light Dragoons, Battle of Waterloo 1815

13 December 1821 Captain in the 16^th Light Dragoons (Lancers) by purchase.

Siege & Storm of Bhurtpore 1826 Volunteered with dismounted cavalry to storm Bhurtpore.

17 October 1834 Brevet Major by purchase.

Was awarded three medals, one for the Peninsula with three clasps for Albuera, Salamanca & Toulouse, one for Waterloo and one for Bhurtpore
